Hello! So you're interested in trading with us? That's wonderful. Our flagship event is the monthly Cornwall Shop Small Market. With over 60 traders including Craft & Design, Vintage & Salvage and Home & Lifestyle traders we welcome traders of all shapes, but not all sizes. Our focus is on small independent makers, designers, producers and curators. We offer all of our traders a warm welcome, a supportive environment and the chance to be a part of a carefully curated line up of small business superstars!
Please have a read of what we look for in our traders below and then, if you think we're right for each other, find out more about applying for our events and fill out an application form or be sign up to be notified when applications open.
Duchy Fairs is all about big love shopping small and the value of buying independent so please note that we are only interested in applications from independent traders. You can have your own dedicated retail space, online shop or sell through multiple retailers but you should not be a multi outlet business or franchise.
We focus on businesses that are based in Cornwall but businesses from further afield can apply. If two applications are similar then priority will be given to a Cornwall based applicant. However primarily we will allocate a stand on the basis of the merit of the application based on all of the above.
The Cornwall Shop Small Market is all about Contemporary Craft & Design, Home and Lifestyle wares and Vintage & Salvage finds. Food & Drink traders for off site consumption are welcome to apply but please note that any clash with the Truro Farmers Market (who we set up alongside) regular line up will be taken into consideration.
PROFESSIONAL AND WELL PRESENTED
We are looking for traders who present themselves well in terms of product, brand, display and communications (e.g. social channels / website). Competition is fierce and an applicant who makes something similar to you but presents themselves more professionally will be the successful applicant.
Where relevant we also prioritise applications from makers-designers-producers who have complete control over their production process rather than buying in pre made elements.
One of the amazing things about shopping small and local is the ability to know the story behind what you're buying, it puts you in control of being able to make sustainable choices. We love to wecome traders who include sustainable practises and products in their business.
We welcome applications no matter what your ethnicity, gender, religion, age, sexuality or education is. It's all about the things above, not your background. In spite of the stereotypes we think Cornwall is a place where diversity does, should, and can, thrive!
QUALITY AND UNIQUE
We look for quality products where real skill is shown in the making or curating of the range. If you trade something that anyone could easily make, curate or trade you are less likely to be a successful applicant, we love the unique!
