TRADE AT THE VIRTUALLY THERE FAIR
Hurrah! You're here. We're really excited that you want to be a part of the Virtually There Fair, taking place on Instagram @duchyfairs #virtuallytherefair. While we have postponed our 2020 programme of fairs and markets until November it doesn't mean that we can't all continue to experience the joy and value of buying independent from you, our wonderful makers and curators.
The date of our next Virtually There Fair is TBC and will take place @duchyfairs #virtuallytherefair. With Craft & Design, Food & Drink, Vintage & Salvage and Home & Garden it's not to be missed. While we can't all get together right now we're committed to creating an amazing virtual event with lots of ways to get involved. We asked our traders and visitors what they wanted and we've come up with an awesome format that is going to be like being virtually there!
So how can you get involved and trade? There are a few options...
This will be the main event of the fair. On the Saturday we will be releasing a series of curated albums on to our instagram grid featuring a hand picked selection of indie makers, designers, producers and creators. Each grid album will be dedicated to one trader and will feature a series of promotional product range shots supplied by the trader. These albums will be accompanied by a blurb introducing the trader business, detailing any trader promos running for the weekend and directing people on how to buy (comment and tag on the album). There will also be the option to host additional content on your own Instagram page - you might want to post additional product images on your grid or go live for a specific time on either of both days so people can ask you questions directly then - any additional content you want to host on ypur own page will aso be detailed in the blurb and people will be directed to the trader instagram profile for more. All traders in the curated line up will also feature in a Virtual Fair welcome where we introduce what's happening across the weekend, how to visit the fair and you all say a quick hello and introduce your business. This video will be pre edited and streamed as live at event open and then saved to our IGTV with a grid preview. To be one of our curated line up of traders you need to find out more and apply here. There is a voluntary trader contribution to be a part of the curated line up at a suggested donation of £5+.
Option 2: Get involved in our Stories Showcase
This is open to any trader that fits the fair concept and is absolutely FREE to get involved. Throughout the fair 'open' hours anyone who shares relevant images to their Instagram stories and tags us in @duchyfairs and uses the #virtuallytherefair will be shared to our stories. Please note that you must tag us in AND ensure your original story post is public for us to be able to share it. We will share a maximum of 3 visuals per trader. This means that our stories will be a showcase throughout the fair. The visuals must be relevant in terms of who you are, the content and how it's presented. So you must be a small / indie maker, designer, producer or trader that fits our criteria. You can find out more about what we look for in traders here. Additionally the visuals must be good quality, well presented and not contain anything offensive! Finally (and crucially) the content must be relevant - this is a fair so you should focus on visuals of a stand set up or a product range display or individual products, as the main purpose of the event is to showcase and sell your wares you would ideally clearly price them within the visual - clear prices really do encourage sales.
Option 3: Be a Content Provider
Across the weekend we're planning a a series of 'live' features. The content needs to be relevant and engaging. There are ways of running this content so you don't have to go live in live time so don't let this put you off - prerecorded videos can work! We are also happy to be a part of your live (or not!) through split screen, so don't let that worry you, we're here for mutual hand holding. There are specific format requirements depending on how the content is going to be 'broadcast'. Live 'lives' can run up to 30 minutes in length, pre recorded content needs to be a maximum of 10 minutes. If content is live or being streamed as live (which can then be asved to IGTV) it needs to be filmed in the vertical / portrait, pre recorded content for IGTV with grid preview can be filmed horizontal / landscape. We have some ideas but are also keen to hear yours. Our thoughts are maker interviews, product showcases, studio tours, subject talks, live music / performances or creative workshops which could be a simple craft make, a food or drink recipe, a home hack or some makeover ideas. As a content provider you would also be featured on our grid and stories and the content would be made available on IGTV. There is NO CHARGE for being a content provider and we'll do our best to really showcase you and your business. We're just looking to create a wonderful virtual experience for everyone.
